Top 2 - Names

I am loving the Top 2, it really makes think!
But I have decided that for my next baby (and we are definitely having at least one more) we are keeping the name a secret. This day and age, you really can't keep the sex a secret.
But I will say that BEFORE we had Ms. Abby (Abigail)...these were our names.....
1) Girl - I wanted Tana. Said like Hannah, but with a T. I thought it was original, yet classic. Marie was the middle name no matter what. Stu said Abigail.....and since he was overseas fighting for our country, I think that I gave in a little. I had reservations, but the second I met her, I just knew she was an Abigail.
2) Boy - Hunter James. That was dead set to both of us. Both of my grandfathers are James, one of Stu's is, so that just fit. Plus my brother (James David aka. JD) was James. I love Hunter and when I was pregnant, I drove by a neighborhood called Hunter Creek and a SUV in front of me was a car that had "Hunter was here" written on the dirt of it....I thought that was a sign. But, alas it was not a boy.
*********
I am all about "classic" names. I like that people can take the risks and come up with original names.
But I have always been slightly jealous of people that have nicknames. I am Ann. I am a 80 year old librarian. Face it. I really don't think that I will have a child that does not have a "nickname".

Mom, don't worry, I love my name!

I love those! I have never heard Tana before! I think I would have given in to a name if my hubs was fighting for our country too! He wins hands down for that!

I went to high school with a girl named Tana, I was always jealous of such a unique name (there were about 10 Kristen's at my school)..very cute picks!

I know what you mean about nick names. My mom chose Erin specifically because it couldn't be shortened any. Tana is lovely!

My husband just told me the other day that his favorite boy name was Hunter! I'd never thought about it before, so I'm not sure yet.

Great name choices!

JD will never let you live it down if your child happens to share his name. Cause he's such a good boy and all. He's also convinced that you will only have girl babies because he likes the name Hunter. Okay....weirdo. But I also like Tana. I am a fan of unique names, not weird, but just unique. I'll never put my kid through being the 5th or 6th with their same name. I was always "Jessica D.".

I like names that don't have nicknames. :) Neither my husband or I have a nickname and neither does our daughter. But that is a totally personal choice. :) And I don't blame you for wanting to keep the name a secret. I am 24 weeks pregnant and I want to strangle my sister in law for bothering me about picking a name for him every single day! I told my husband that just to spite her we might keep it to ourselves. :)
