Diapers and Meltdowns

We have had quite an exciting day! I will try to recap everything here!
*******
Since Abby's birthday is so close to Christmas, she gets TONS of presents all at one time. We decided not to open all of them right away to give her something later on.
Today we opened this present from my brother. It is a wagon with approximately 10,000 pieces. About a half hour in, we lost 5,000 of them. But she did still have fun with it (thanks, JD...just wait until you have kids, I know the noisiest toys!)
***********
I have a confession. I am REALLY bad at diapers. I am not sure why, but I always seem to get them half on/half off. Stuart makes fun of me, and I have no idea why I am so bad at them.
Case in point.

A little closer...

Yep, that is a butt cheek hanging out.
***********

I also want to point out that after about 5 seconds of playing with her toy...Abby (aka. MacGyver) found the most interesting part of the toy.

The plastic part on the box. She brought this piece to me like it was a treasure.
******************
We went to the library today. Most.mortifying.moment.ever.
When I take her to the library, I let her play with the books in the bin that are not in order. She pulls them out, hands them to me and loves every moment of it. All fine.
Today though, a curious 5 year old came over and poked her. Poked her. Then proceeded to sneeze on her. Twice. I hit my breaking point and scooped her up and said it was time to go. OH.MY.GOD. She threw the biggest tantrum I have ever seen. Full body meltdown. I literally had to use my knee to get her back in the stroller. She screamed at the top of her lungs while I checked out and the librarians gave me dirty looks. What did you want me to do? I turned 100 shades of red.
(Side note - the Jacksonville library is the smallest library ever - there were maybe 10 people in there - and that is guessing that people were hiding in the book aisles).
**************
I didn't get a picture, but tonight's meltdown is an indication of what it looked like.

Is that not the saddest face you have ever seen?

Wait...distraction!

Pretty sure Daddy is calling my name.....
**************
Thanks for all the thoughts/prayers on the house. We got an offer, countered and waiting to hear back. Hopefully, I will have great news tomorrow!

Busy Days with Daddy

We have had quite an exciting night tonight! Late night house showing, promises of an offer tomorrow...yea!!
Now we are watching a movie (Brothers, which I have already cried twice in).
******
I will leave you with pictures of the Princess.

She walks with both of her arms like the one on the right here. It is too funny to watch.

***********

While eating dinner, Stu tells me that he put Abby in a drawer today (really, should men be allowed to watch babies?). I didn't think much about it, until I saw the picture...

Way to piss her off!

I guess they made up though.

Abby constantly tries to open the garage door.

Her main goal is to get a finger in first though. (Please also note the spider book - this is Abby's favorite book of all time, I have the stupid thing memorized)

Busted!

This is her "I know you will let me in, why are you messing with me?" face.

Loving the warm weather.

Aunt Melinda gave her this giant lamb. She loves to body slam it.

That face melts my heart!

When we decide to go for a walk, I usually just throw on whatever is closest. Today was clogs and a jacket. You can tell by the look on her face that she is not happy - it was mainly the shoes.

Top Two Tuesday...Random Facts

It is time for Top 2 Tuesday. I had a hard time with this weeks topic, but I will still try.

1. I was born in Knoxville, TN.

I always think that it is interesting to know where people were born, as that is usually not where you end up. I love the fact that Abby was born on a Marine Base, as surely that can't be that common.

2. I am TERRIFIED of scary movies.

Not just that they freak me out or anything. I have to leave the room when the previews come on.

It all started in 2003 when I watched Gothika. There is a little girl in the movie with her hair in her face (at least that is how I remember it). Well...later on that night, I am pretty sure I woke up to see that girl in my bedroom closet pointing at me. That was the end of that. Gothika is the absolute last scary movie that I have seen. And I am perfectly fine with that.

I love Showers.....Baby Showers that is!

This weekend, we loaded up the car and took a road trip to Charlotte, NC for Julie's baby shower. I didn't take as many pictures as I would have liked, but I have a few. Hopefully, I will be sent a few more and can share those as well.

Here is a shot of some of the presents.

The decorations. If you look very closely, you can see that the silverware is tucked into baby socks. Such a great idea! So, not only were the decorations adorable, but she got about 4 sets of socks!

This present was in a giant laundry basket. There was a sign on the top that said something about pulling out slowly. It was a giant clothesline.

Is this not the cutest idea? I am totally stealing this for my next shower present.

Ms. Momma opening presents. I am so excited to meet Ms. Audrey.

Abby napped through 90% of the shower.

As I knew that she would be into everything. I was completely right. This bag contained a giant stuffed pig.

Abby fell right in!

A few blogs that I read recently posted some pet peeves, so I thought I would share some of my current ones.
  • Jesse James - I just got done reading the People article about Sandra Bullock. What a freaking loser he is. If you feel the need to cheat on your spouse, at least have the nerve to divorce/leave them first. Cheating is for cowards. Plus, there are not many step "ups" than Sandra Bullock.
  • ReRuns - I have said this before, but I am so irritated that the prime time shows are not new every week (ahem....Desperate Housewives). I work every week, why can't you?
  • Buyers - Buy MY house!
  • Bathrooms with no changing tables - I cannot tell you how many bathrooms we stopped at this weekend that had no changing tables. Mostly gas stations, but also fast food joints. I should just change her on the table in the middle of the place, that would teach them.
  • High School Reunions - I just got my invite for my 10th. $40 a person...say what? I would love to spend $80 to see people that I didn't keep in touch with for 10 years for a reason. Ugh, I will probably go anyway though.

Cell Phone Pictures

Stuart didn't take any pictures with the camera today, so I found some on my cell phone that I thought I would share.
********
Abby and I were in Kmart one day (which I HATE this store, but it is so close to our house). She kept insisting on pulling one leg out and twisting her body to look forward. It was so frustrating.

I also see that I don't have her strapped in. That may be bad, but I hate strapping her in. I never get too far from her, so I don't worry about her falling out. I just think those straps are so disgusting and I don't want her even touching them. Plus half the time, they are broken, so what is the point?

Eventually she decided that this was how she wanted to sit. I like to think that I know a thing or two about kids, having been an aunt and a lot of my friends have kids. One thing I guess I just never thought of was how quirky they are. I would have NEVER thought to sit in the cart like this. She is just so imaginative.

Last night, I got the bright idea to put legos down the back of her shirt. After about 20 minutes of trying to "get" them, she just gave up. This is the picture that Stu sent me today. Abby figured out how to put the legos in the back of her shirt herself.

These are the glasses that go to Ms. Potato Head. It cracks her up for me to put them on. Kinda confuses her when they are put on her though. I love this picture, it is my wallpaper picture!

Stuart and Abby like to take trips to Lowe's during the day. He sent me this one with the caption "Future Race Car Driver". Uh no.

Oldie, but Goodie. I think she might be about 6 months old in this one. I can usually tell how old she is by the amount of hair she has!

********

Big decisions on the house. I spoke to our broker for about 30 minutes tonight. Without getting too into details and boring everyone...we need to reduce the price of our house. We are right above a "price point". By reducing it a few thousand dollars, we will open it up to a new set of buyers. We were already barely breaking even. Ugh. Stu wants to start school in June, so we really have no choice. Ramen noodles for us!

Conquering the Chair

Sorry for the quality of the pictures, the light from outside always makes them dark.

Abby is obsessed with her chair.

She absolutely cannot leave it alone if it is on the floor.

She takes about 10 minutes to circle around it.

Trying different ways to get in it.

Success!

Now she just has to get her book.

So heavy.... (she loves this huge book)

Finally, settled and ready to go!
(Note the book is upside down)
*******************
The rest of the day she chatted away on her phone.

Feet kicked up, relaxing. Oh the life!

Ready for Spring!

I don't know about ya'll but I LOVE Daylight Savings Time. It means that I get to come home from work and play outside with Abby.

Since the bubble machine is fixed, Abby is loving it.

All she wants to do is grab them.

I also bought her a ball. In Kmart, she was loving it. As soon as we got home and I put it on the kitchen floor, little gal ran like she was going to get attacked by it.

But outside, she tends to enjoy it more. I tried to get her to kick it, but that was not happening.

She pretty much spent the whole time in this position. At first, I thought she was, uh, doing her business. But apparently not, I am not sure what she was doing.

I get home today from work and Daddy had kicked the ball over the fence into the neighbor's yard. Sigh. I guess I will have to go beg for it back later.
