Abby and I had plans to make a beach trip today. At the last minute, my friend Melissa called. She was watching her two nieces and had nothing planned! So she joined us for a great day!!
After about 30 minutes, we managed to get all of the car seats in the car. Let me just say, I don't know how people with three kids fit in anything other than a mini-van!
By the way, Haileigh is 5 and Izzy will be 2 in July, so her and Abby are about 6 months apart.
Abby immediately jumped in the sand.
Abby immediately jumped in the sand.
I couldn't get Izzy to look at the camera, but check out that hair (in case you don't already know, I'm obsessed with hair)!
Abby did think that throwing sand in the air was the absolute best thing that ever happened.
I will be cleaning sand out of her nose and ears for months.
But she had a blast.
We eventually started walking down towards the ocean.
Again, obsessed with the sand.
I noticed that the ocean air made her hair even curlier!
Don't let this picture fool you. About 20 minutes later, Abby melted DOWN. She refused to get in the ocean and was absolutely terrified (the water was warm enough to get in). She made me hold her and dip her arms down. But stand in the ocean, not.having.it. This went on for at least 30 to 45 minutes.
Then it was ON!
**********
She wanted to run open arms to the ocean. Terrifying me of course. I wasn't able to take any pictures as both hands were used trying to keep her from being swept away.
After being thoroughly soaked, the top was off!
We found another pool of water and the girls played for a bit longer.
