Book Club Friday

Small Sacrifices by Ann Rule

Summary:

Ann Rule's shocking and powerful account of the destructive forces that drove Diane Downs, a beautiful young mother, to shoot her three young children in cold blood

Review:

I became interested in this story about 6 months ago when I saw a 20/20 special on Diane Downs. It was the most horrifying thing I have ever watched. So I just knew I had to read this book. I'll admit, it is very long. And like any true crime book is full of lots of details. But I found it absolutely fascinating. How does a mother kill her kiddos? Then her actions (and the 20/20 special showed interviews) are just un-freakin-believable. If you can get through the details, it is a jaw-dropping story.
