Happy Easter!

Crazy, busy week/weekend. It all ended with a wonderful Easter day.

I worked on this little beauty last night.

A duck bank, duck for the bath, watering can, stickers, a book, and gummy candy.

Abby decided to wake up at 7:15 this morning.

She is a little perplexed about the new basket that appeared in her room overnight.

Yes, this is what her hair looks like every time she wakes up.

She was loving her "Yellow Duck". Even more so when I gave her some money to put in it.

She was pretty thrilled about all of it.

Especially the candy!!

Until we told her that she could only have 2 pieces.

I completely forgot my camera and took no pictures of lunch and hanging out at my parents house. Here is Abby's Easter dress.

Poor baby was so tired (and sunburnt from yesterday) that I only got these two shots.

**********

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

Bouncey Boo

On Saturday, we went to Stu's parents for Easter dinner. Yum!

Abby loves their trampoline so much. (Don't worry there is one of those net things around it)

She calls it the Bouncey Boo.
Her favorite thing to do is play with the balls or jump into a sitting position.

She also got quite a bit of sun.

She also got a Tweety Bird from her Mee Maw and Aunt Pam.

But she was out like a light 10 minutes into the car. With the shades on.

***********

When we were playing later that night, Abby got very excited and jumped in the air and landed on her bottom. Just like she does on the Bouncey Boo. Except she did it on the floor. Stu and I laughed forever about it as Abby just sat there in shock. I guess she thought that she was still on the Bouncey Boo.

Folding Laundry

Abby loves helping me with her laundry. She always puts the washcloths away as well as hang her shirts and dresses in the closet.

Since she was folding washcloths and not looking, I managed to get a shot of her.

How adorable is that gown?

Every time I do laundry, I immediately put it back on her and then sulk until laundry is done again ;)

She did bust me taking a picture though.

(Please note how disorganized her books are. I am dying for a new bookshelf for her. Stu has promised to build me one as soon as we get a house. I already have plans drawn up for it.)

The last picture I got before "No More Camera Momma".

Mixed in with her laundry was a washcloth that normally stays in the kitchen. She grabbed it and took off for the kitchen. She came back a few minutes later and said, "I need help, Momma." I followed her in the kitchen and she pointed to the pantry. I opened it and she put the washcloth on top of our other kitchen towels. She is such a smart girl!

But this is the face that I seem to get more and more. Pure madness. This was after I told her that it was getting close to bedtime and we should go read a book.

We got her Spring pictures back from MDO tonight. I will share after we give the grandparents their copies. Too precious!

Easter Egg Hunting

Even though it was freezing today, we decided to go Easter Egg Hunting.

When we got there, it was even raining!

But this little trooper was ready to go!

The basket is as big as she is!
Doesn't she just look so grown up?

One thing that I wasn't a fan of was that all the kids went at the same time. I had to grab Abby and race across the field to a spot that the other kids hadn't found yet.

But she did manage to get about 12 eggs filled with chocolate and bubble gum.

She was a little devastated when I asked her to keep the candy and leave the eggs (for them to re-use next year). But since we already have a dozen eggs at our house, we really don't need more.

She was really good during the entire Easter Egg hunt. I was so proud. But ask to take a picture with Nana in front of the flowers....not going to happen!

Ramblings

I have really been slacking on the blogging! With it getting darker later, Abby has been going to bed later and later. She is such a little diva about bed. Stalling with needs of paci (curse the paci!), stuffed animals, a drink, just anything!

***********

If we don't say our prayers and name every person she knows, we pretty much have to start over!

She even started saying her prayers in the car. I snuck this picture of her talking to "Baby Jesus".

Her reaction to seeing the camera!

************

Some random things that she has done lately:

While naming the people we love to Baby Jesus, she named Nana's Hair.

We were arguing about whether she could get the paci or not (happens alot). Finally, she just stared me right in the face and said, "Put.the.paci.in.my.mouth" in her super scary voice.

Walking tonight, we ran into some kids about age 6-9. As we were walking away, she said "Bye Babies".

Every day when we drive home, she wants me to sing the ABC's. But before I get to D, she screams "No". I started singing it in different voices, like low and high. She imitates it and thinks it is the funniest thing that she has ever heard.

When we get back from our walk, she takes Ali's leash and tries to put it back on Ali for about 30 minutes. Luckily, Ali is a very patient dog.

***********

When I have to give Ali a pill, like heartworm, I put it on a spoon in peanut butter.

This picture shows it all. The dog is insane about peanut butter.

During the walk tonight, the kids that came up to us attacked Ali. 5 at a time petting her. One little girl asked me if she was a mommy. I said that no, she didn't have any puppies. Then the girl asked me if she was married. I said no, she isn't married.

As we left (and Abby was yelling Bye Babies), the same little girl said "Ali, you are way too cute for no one to love you". I assume that she meant about being married.

I love kids!

Results are in on two of my friends babies. One girl and one boy!

2 down, 4 to go! I can't believe that I know 6 pregnant ladies!!!

New Gown

Abby, as always, is adamant about not getting her picture taken.

So I had to go in while she was sleeping to get this one.

For weeks/months, I have been wanting to get Abby a gown to sleep in. All the ones that I found had a trademark character on them. You may not know this, but I am really not a fan of "characters".

I finally found this one today at Gymboree. It has kitties all over it. She looked too cute for words!

Maybe I can get another picture in the morning before church.

********

We had a fantastic day of shopping and lunching with friends. It is about 80 degrees!

We went for a walk about 5 today and went by the apartment pool. There were about 40 people at the pool! And about 5-10 kids IN the pool. Good thing I bought Abby a tankini today - might be needing it soon!

My Secret Weapon: Ali

Abby refuses to get her picture taken. "No Camera Momma" is all that I hear.

The only way I can get a picture of her is to ask her to take a picture with Ali.

Telling Ali that it is time to "Sit Down". "Are you ready Ali?" Ali was born ready.
"Ok, here we go!"

********

There was a moment tonight that I looked at Abby and almost fell out of my chair. For some reason, I just had a complete deja vu moment of a picture of Stu as a child. Don't get me wrong, she is a gorgeous young GIRL. But there was a look or facial expression or something that just made me think of Stu in pictures that I have seen.

I will have to see if I can find baby/kiddo pictures and let you be the judge!

Busy, Busy

I have been slacking on the blogging.

Just a few reasons:

  • Stuck in traffic for over 2 hours

  • Teen Mom 2 Reunion

  • Wedding Dress Shopping (Not for me, of course!)

  • Going to bed early and getting a great night of sleep (more than once)

  • Extreme Couponing on TLC. I am in shock.

  • Trying to build a Blog Book. I am really regretting all my wordy posts. That is why this post is separate from the pictures ;)

  • A talkative 2 year old that has decided that 7:30 is waaaay to early to call it a night.

But we do have some fun stuff planned over the next few weeks/months so hopefully the blogging will get better!

Weekend Wrap Up

What a beautiful weekend!

The weekend started out wonderful with a drive home.

Abby was feeling the shades.

Happy as can be! ************ On Saturday, we went to Callie's 2nd birthday party. It was outside at their house. All the kiddos played outside and then we went inside for presents and cake. Callie got this giant ball gym for a present. The kids pretty much would not leave it alone.
Abby hoarding balls.

Everyone else went on to cake and ice cream. Abby would not stop playing the balls and missed out on that fun.

************

Missing the cake might have been a good thing. I have been sick the rest of the weekend. Not sure if it was due to the sugar or something else, but I have been unable to eat anything. I finally managed a bowl of soup for lunch today. I hate being sick!
