Book Club - Mockingjay

Book Club - Mockingjay

Summary:

Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has survived the Hunger Games twice. But now that she's made it out of the bloody arena alive, she's still not safe. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge. Who do they think should pay for the unrest? Katniss. And what's worse, President Snow has made it clear that no one else is safe either. Not Katniss's family, not her friends, not the people of District 12. Powerful and haunting, this thrilling final installment of Suzanne Collins's groundbreaking The Hunger Games trilogy promises to be one of the most talked about books of the year.

Review:

I loved the first book. Thought about it constantly, and can't wait to see the movie (Redbox, of course). But I was a little bored by the second book, to the point that I can barely tell you what happened. So by the time I made it to the 3rd, I was over.it. I blame it on reading them all in fast succession. If I had to do it over again, I would space them out. And the last few pages, I read in 1 second. I don't know what I was expecting, but it was very anti-climatic. Kinda reminded me of Harry Potter. And although it was quick reads, I am ready to get back to "adult" books (stay tuned for my review next week....it is a book I owe the library a ton of moola on since I have been hoarding it to read)

I read these books so quickly that while I enjoyed them, I don't really remember a lot. I would love to take the time and reread them and this time savour my way through them.

You're the first person I've seen that wasn't completely in love with them!

I am spacing mine out. I have read the first two and loved them both. I am going to read a few more books before reading Mockingjay. I have heard mixed reviews but I like to take breaks when reading series.

The second was my absolute favorite. I thought Mockingjay was awful. It was so sloppy, to me!
