First Book:

Look Again by Lisa Scottoline

Summary:

When reporter Ellen Gleeson gets a “Have You Seen This Child?” flyer in the mail, she almost throws it away. But something about it makes her look again, and her heart stops—the child in the photo is identical to her adopted son, Will. Her every instinct tells her to deny the similarity between the boys, because she knows her adoption was lawful. Review:

I really like this author. She originally had me hooked with Save Me, an awesome book. This book is also at the top of my list of hers. I was literally on the edge of my seat. I love books that make me question things, in this case it was biological parent vs. adopted parent. And let me just tell you, the ending SHOCKED me. I love books where I don't see it coming! I recommend not only this book, but this author as well. 

Second Book: 

Bitter is the New Black by Jen Lancaster 

Summary:

Jen Lancaster was living the sweet life-until real life kicked her to the curb.

She had the perfect man, the perfect job-hell, she had the perfect life-and there was no reason to think it wouldn't last. Or maybe there was, but Jen Lancaster was too busy being manicured, pedicured, highlighted, and generally adored to notice.

This is the smart-mouthed, soul-searching story of a woman trying to figure out what happens next when she's gone from six figures to unemployment checks and she stops to reconsider some of the less-than-rosy attitudes and values she thought she'd never have to answer for when times were good.

Filled with caustic wit and unusual insight, it's a rollicking read as speedy and unpredictable as the trajectory of a burst balloon.

Review:

Do I live under a rock? Why have I not read these books before? I have heard of her, but I just randomly grabbed this one (meaning, my 4 year old was pulling books off the shelf of the library so I just grabbed something). I read this entire book in one sitting on New Years Eve. I literally laughed out loud. I already have the next one reserved at the library (I can't financially support my book habit). She is so freaking hilarious and sadly, my favorite parts were her making fun of people. I went to her blog after (because every great writer has a blog) and might follow it, but I definitely need to catch up on the other 10 books she wrote first. If you have thought about picking this book up......do it. I thought it was hilarious with a capital H.
