This is What Happens When....

You let your toddler have the camera (see her on the left).

Abby has Mac and Cheese for Dinner (and Saltines too apparently).

You eat pretzels while blogging.

*********

We are doing so much better with the Paci at night. But when she does get it, she holds on to it! I usually have a cup of milk beside me when I read her the night-time books. Tonight, when she wanted a glass of milk, she glared at me, held on to the Paci and drank her milk holding the Paci too.

Such a personality!

Misc. Ramblin's

Lake Winnie is in Chattanooga. It is kinda the "trailer park" of theme parks, but very good for kids. There is an entire section for just people under 48". A few of the rides, I could have ridden with Abby, but I got pretty nauseous on the first one, so that was the end of that.
***********
Abby is surviving the "No Paci" before bedtime rule. She is getting much better about not melting down and accepting that she will not get that paci until bedtime.
***********
We took our nightly walk tonight and it was so windy! I heard on the radio about a cold front (ha! 78 degrees). But whenever it is windy, all I can think about is Mary Poppins. That is one of my favorite movies. If you haven't seen it, sorry to say but you were deprived as a child.
***********
Have you seen Death at a Funeral? If not, watch it (must have a sick sense of humor - think poop jokes). It is one of the best movies I have seen in a long time.
**********
We tried to get a video tonight, but Abby straight up destroyed her diaper at dinner tonight. Facially expressions and all. We kept saying, "Are you pooping?". Her response multiple times, "No" with a very convincing head nod.
**********
Watching Date Night tonight (we are big movie people). Mark Wahlburg is still one sexy dude.
***********
I know alot of people read Kelly's Korner. She just announced that she is expecting her second child. For those of you that don't know, Harper is 10 days older than Abby. I mentioned to Stu today (who is well aware of who Harper is, as I make him look at pictures of her) that Kelly was having a second. His response, "Just because some girl you don't know is having another baby, doesn't mean that we are!". HaHa! He knows me so well!

Lake Winnie

Or "Lake Winnepesaukah" as it is formally known. Saturday we headed to a theme park in Chattanooga for Abby to have a day of fun.

Abby and Nana on the train...Abby would say "Choo Choo" every time the train honked.

Abby at the splash pad. She wasn't too crazy about the water coming up, but she did like to fill her cup with water.

Riding in the pink bug!

Yellow Ladybug

But her absolute favorite were the boats.

They had a string that you could pull to ring the bells.

And a steering wheel.

Abby was loving it (when it was sitting still).

As soon as the ride started, Abby would go into "freeze" mode. She would not touch a thing. Just stare around and try not to move. Mom and I cracked up and just yelled at her to turn the steering wheel or pull the string. She was not having any of it.

That night we went to Wasabi for my bro's 25th birthday. She looks like she is having a blast!
********
Stu took these pictures on Friday.

Ms. Potato Head's eyes in her mouth.

And the fear in Ali's eyes. Maybe she is thinking that she is next!
***********
Abby has also mastered the art of "waving". She waves to anyone that will catch her eye. Then yells "Hi" at the top of her lungs. It was cute the first 100 times. Now, she does it to everyone. Still pretty funny though.
************
On that note, if you see an adorable 1 1/2 year old wave at you, wave back. Don't ignore her. It is just rude.
************
If you want a sneak peek of our photos of Abby....click here. The first and fourth are in my top 5. I will share the rest soon.

Plaid Shorts

I have fought Stu for years to wear plaid shorts. I just really think that guys in plaid shorts with a polo shirt look so cute! But he absolutely refuses.
But I guess I can settle for Abby in some adorable plaid shorts. And Stu even bought them for her!

If you had any doubt that Abby has calmed down and is getting used to not having a paci between bath and bed......here is what she does when I put her in the stroller for her walk. I tried to get her face, but she wouldn't have it.
*She does calm down about 5 minutes in, but we get quite a few stares first.*

More Apron Fun

So tonight was the first night I actually took pictures of Abby in her apron. But she wears it ALL the time. I am so glad that Julie is into sewing. I am trying to convince her to open a Etsy shop, I would love to give handmade gifts (and we all know that I am not crafty!)

This one is very blurry, but when I tell Abby to "cheese" she crosses her arms for some reason.

And that hair - it was a hot mess tonight. There was something sticky in it. Luckily, it washed out.

She loves this apron. She went around and put all of her bows in it.

Very intense.

Nothing completes an apron like a pair of Mommy's shoes (on the wrong feet).

My "grown up" heading into the bathroom.

Abby's art work from today. It says "Animal Shapes". I asked Abby if she made me pictures of ghosts - she said "No". Smart girl, she knew what they were.

****
I am so excited about some recent pictures that I had done of Abby. I got them back tonight. I ordered them online to give to the family. As soon as they get them, I will share!

Oh the Drama of the Paci

This picture pretty much sums up about 30 minutes of our night:
I have been swaying on the paci only at bedtime rule. Well, not tonight. Immediately after the bath, when she did her usually point and whine until I give in, I just said no.

Abby threw herself around the house, whaling and just carrying on.

It was sad. This is her beside the couch where I was sitting. She would scream only when I would look at her.

Throwing herself in the corner.

"Stop taking pictures. My life is ending!"
I know that some may argue that nothing is wrong with the paci and I really don't think it is that bad. It has just turned into such an ordeal. She whines and whines until she gets her way.
I took her for a walk without the paci. She screamed bloody murder the first 10 minutes and tried to weasel out of the stroller. But she survived (as I knew she would, although Momma's nerves were a little shot).

*********
Until this ordeal, the title of this post was going to be "Butt Pictures".
I finally got the money shots of Abby in the tub.

And man, was she cheesing it up.
This all happened before she knew that Momma wasn't going to let her have the paci.

Really looking forward to meeting her boyfriend in 16 years (45 if you ask Stu) and showing him these pictures!

Caden's First Birthday

Abby and I attended Caden's First Birthday this weekend. It was so much fun, there were so many people there! They had tons of kiddy pools set out, but it was too hot for even that!

Check out this cake - Caden loves airplanes.

His "smush cake". How freaking cute is that??

He loved it! And I am pretty sure that he ate at least half of it.

Caden opening presents.
Abby missed her nap since the party was 12-2. It was not pretty - she wanted me to hold her the entire time.
Amanda, Abby and I got Caden this little riding/walking toy. We think that he really liked it.

Please look at this picture of when he was born, too cute! I love looking at past pictures - I think he still has the distinct features, but I noticed that his hair has gotten much lighter!

Amanda and a friend from high school, Melody. I haven't seen Melody since Amber's wedding and before that, years. But she is just one of those people that you can see every few years and still have a blast with. We all ended up hanging out for hours after the party, just re-living old times.

You didn't think that I would leave Abby out, did you?
This was Caden's "big" present. While he was off eating the cake and getting bathed, Abby decided that this was the best thing that she has ever seen. She got in and out of this toy about 40 times. I figured that she was OK, so I walked in the next room.
Next thing I know, I hear Abby scream "No" and another child cry. I walk back in the room and Amanda is telling her, "Abby, you need to share". Apparently some little girl, about 3, had tried to get in the car. Abby was not having it.
I had to remove Abby from the situation and attempt to put her down for a nap. It took hours. I put her in the pack and play in Amber's room. Found her peeking out the blinds at the kids playing outside. Moved the pack and play, then she played with her shoes. Removed those. FINALLY went down for an hour nap.

Random Text

Yes, I know...two posts in one night! But if you know about my "text stalker", then you will appreciate this. It was too good not to pass up.
"Btw Iv never smoked weed n my life and that day i said about ur da smoken i got him mixed up with eddie sorry!"
I know that the grammar is all off and I really don't even know what she is trying to say, but it totally cracked me up. People constantly ask me why I don't text her back. But this stuff is just too funny to pass up.

Make sure you check out Abby's 19 month post below!

19 Months Old

Abby, You are Nineteen Months Old!
I really don't feel that too much has changed since her last post about her age. I am sure that a million things have changed, but you just have to read the blog to find them all!
These are Abby's new pj's that I got at Sugarbabies. We are pretty much out of the footed pj's, but I found these that had no feet. Abby seems to like them. But I did not notice until I put them on here that they are button down, not zippers. Since she has a slight obsession with buttons and snaps, I am betting that she will be naked when she wakes up!

New Artwork! I am thinking colorful fish??

I totally made Stuart hold these up in Target so that I could get a picture. How freaking adorable - pink cowboy boots! Pretty sure I have her fall shoes picked out.

We got a long awaited gift in the mail yesterday.

Look at this adorable apron that Julie made for her!! We were in a hurry to get out the door, but I did put it on her very quick. She was very intrigued with the stickers in the pocket. The other side holds individual crayons. I will get better pictures of it soon.

Forecast = Sunny

Thanks to all the people that left comments on the blog and facebook, emailed or sent texts regarding Abby. I am happy to say that she is 100% better!

I called Stu this morning and he said that she was like a new person. I guess it was just a reaction to the shots.

I really cannot express how freaked out I was last night, she was BURNING up! I don't even remember what I wrote on the blog, I was just so shaken. I was up and down all night checking on her.

But in case you can't tell by the pictures, she is back to her normal, happy self.

********

Tonight, she discovered something wonderful! Laying on her belly in the bathtub. I wish I had brought my camera in there, I will try tomorrow night. She thinks it is the best.thing.ever to lay on her belly and splash. I do have to say, that she was sitting up and laying down so much, she let out two huge farts! I was crying I was laughing so hard!

********

Last night, Abby was most comfortable when we were holding her. So, I thought that propping her up on a pillow would help. It didn't, but I left the pillow in her crib.

Look how grown up she is!

(And terrified that I have come back in her room after putting her to sleep)

********

A few hours later:

Little gal sleeps just like her momma! On the stomach with the pillow pushed out of the way!
