Normally I wouldn't....

Watch the VMA's. But since Primetime TV is not back yet (A few more weeks, yah!), I got caught up in the VMA's tonight.
******
And really, how can I not comment on the fashion?!?!
Oh heavens. I can actually handle the dress. It is Alexander McQueen. I get it. But the hairpiece?Or the statue off her head? I am just not sure about that. And I am pretty sure it is much more 3-D than this picture gives it justice.

Finally - a great dress for Sofia! She is hot - work it!

Tween Queen rocked the red carpet.

I love Rihanna. I love her new song. Not quite sure the context with the whole domestic violence is appropriate, but her vocals are awesome. But I HATED her outfit. The combat boots, the low cut dress, the neon red hair, the 80's hair band, the cross and the belt. Way too much going on.

Taylor, love the bare feet. Hate the hair. I missed her performance, so maybe it was tied in with that. Very bland.

If you blacked out Kei$ha's face and asked the profession.....my guess would be streetwalker.

Love the hair and the multi color (I actually like that about Ga Ga's as well). Hate the torso area, love the skirt, love the shoes. 3 out of 4 ain't bad.
Isn't this chick like 21? Her face looks super old. I guess Marilyn Manson does that to you.

Hate the feathers. Hate them.

Everything is awesome. The silver with the gold shoes. Loving it.

Perfect choice for the VMA's. I will even try to stop faulting her for the Twilight disaster.

Did I miss a press release? She shaved her head except for the pony tail on top? Pebbles, anyone?

If I had that much money, I would have painted in the bathing suit lines.

Tooth Update

Sorry for no update after the teeth pics...just been busy!!!
We went to the dentist. To say that Abby was unhappy is the understatement of the year. Stu had to lay in the chair with Abby in his lap. When it was time to look in her mouth, he had to brace her arms, while I held her legs. She screamed. And screamed. And screamed.
The conclusion is that not only did she break off about half of her tooth, she jammed the other part up and sideways into her gums. That just sounds so painful :(
Right now we are in a waiting game. We are waiting about 2 weeks to go back and get x-rays once the swelling goes down. Best case, the tooth comes back out on its own. Worse case, she can get an infection in her gum. And/or the tooth stays up in the gum. There was talk about fake teeth, caps, pulling teeth. I really just zoned out. I can only take one task at a time. So, right now we are waiting for the two weeks to pass.
Poor Abby is miserable though. We give her Motrin a few times a day. While napping today, she bit the inside of her cheek and bled all over the crib. She gets in these moods and is inconsolable. Luckily we live close enough to family that they can help out (I took her to my parents tonight to get more help).
It literally breaks my heart. Pray that her tooth gets better and comes back out on its own!
*******
I have always liked the saying "God doesn't give us more than we can handle." I tried to look it up to properly quote it.
The true verse is
No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.
1 Cor. 10:13
Sounds even better!

A Chip Off the Old Block

Conversation with Day Care:
Jennifer (who was on Teen Mom): Abby fell today and busted her lip.
Me: Is she ok?
Jennifer: Yea.....but she chipped her tooth.
Me: Uh ok. Do I need to come and get her?
Jennifer: No, She is calming down now. We are taking care of her.
Me: Well, how bad is it, do I need to take her to the doctor.
Jennifer: No, she is fine. But...well, the tooth is not good.
***That is just the highlights, they actually did a great job of taking care of her***
*******
Remember that gap in her front teeth?

It is just a liiiiiitttttle bigger now.

But at least her spirits are up!

Do you see the missing tooth?

It is not pretty. It makes me tear every time I see it.
********
We are taking her to a pediatric dentist in the morning. Stu is convinced that the tooth is jammed up in her gums. I don't know as I had to bribe her with stickers to even get this shot. I can't get a better look. I am sure the dentist tomorrow is going to be interesting.....

Tag! You're It!!

Last week, Heather, tagged me for a questionnaire. I am not a very creative person (!), but here are some questions that I thought up! Hopefully you enjoy sharing more about yourself!
If you had no job and money was comfortable, how many children would you have?

If you could buy one object, no matter the cost, what would it be?

What is your favorite food?

How many cousins do you have?

Who was your first celebrity crush?

If you could interview any celebrity, who would it be and why?

What was the first concert that you went to?

Share your most embarrassing moment.

If you do answer, please leave me a comment so I will remember to read them!!!

I am a little Obsessive

***Abby is 20 months old today!! 4 months until she is two!!***
*******
I have been planning Christmas for Abby since, well, last Christmas. My entire Christmas present for her was a baby stroller, baby high chair, baby doll clothes and of course, a baby doll. The only thing that I have bought so far is the stroller (at consignment for $2!!). But I have been "shopping" for months trying to decide the perfect things to get her. I had it all planned out to have it all set up for her that morning.
********
Well, ever since I bought the stroller, I have gone back and forth about just giving it to her now. She loves to take her stroller and wheel it around the house. It is about twice the size of her and hard for her to manage. One minute, I want to give it to her, but want it to be special and not make her think that she just gets presents whenever I feel like it (I know, I know, she is freaking one and will never know the difference). But then I want to wait and give it all to her for Christmas.
***********
I am telling you, I am an obsessive person. The funniest part of this is that it is all internal. Stu has no clue that I am so concerned with all of this.
********
I asked Stu to change the sheets on her bed today. Before I can even blink, I see this:
He saw the stroller in the closet and in typical Stu fashion thought "Hm, she likes to play with the other stroller, I bet she will like this one."

He had no idea the nights I have worried about Christmas (in September).

But I will say that she is l-o-v-i-n-g her new stroller.
********
I spent about 30 minutes tonight planning our fall. I made Stu print off calendars for me (I am way too cheap to buy a calendar for the year in Sept). I went through all of the events calendars that I have kept and organized them on one calendar.
Let me tell you...the craft fairs, the hay rides, so excited!!!
Now, if I could just make a decision about the Halloween costume (I have been online and in every store in Smyrna and Murfreesboro)........

Date NIght

Ha Ha! You might think this is a post about Stu and I's date night....but it is not!
Abby, Stu and I went over to the Warf's tonight to hang out and eat pizza.

Abby met her man, Landon. They pretty much ignored each other the first hour. But once we went outside, they were BFF.

*******

Warning: First Date photo's to Follow!

They both discovered their love of cars.

Sharing the front seat.

Working on fixing the radio to the appropriate love music.

Busted! Sitting in the passenger seat together!

Ok, they are separated. We were worried about the two of them "necking". Abby seems pretty cheesy though....

Landon: Give us some private time!
Abby: I am so happy that I have a cute boyfriend.

We did nothing wrong. Just our first date.
*******
Happy 9th Birthday to Evan. We had a fantastic time today. Sorry I have no pictures!

Discovery Center

I had a late night last night hanging out with friends (Happy Birthday Mel, Autumn, Michelle, Jennifer, and Laura). But I was still determined to get up and take Abby to the Discovery Center this morning. We got there right when they opened - which I highly recommend if you go.
Michelle and Bella met us there as well, but I didn't get any pictures of them :(
Abby coloring. She was concentrating hard time.

Hanging out at the farmers market.

She was doing some serious shopping.

Then she played house for a bit.

Doesn't she just look so grown up??

Not a great picture! The Discovery Center changes their theme every few months. Their current theme is music. This is Abby driving the tour bus for a country band. She was loving the steering wheel with the buttons.
********
I was sooooo excited for "our" afternoon nap. I figured after two hours of play, Target, and lunch, she would be pooped. On the drive home, she tried to fall asleep so I kept rolling her window down to prevent that. (Yes, I know that is bad, but I really wanted her to take a good nap).
We finally get home and she is half asleep in my arms. I laid her in the crib and crawled gratefully to the couch. 20 minutes later (20 FREAKING minutes) she was up and ready to play. I couldn't believe it. Never went back to sleep. I am calling a early night for me!

Thanks so much Keisha!
