Yes, No, And Maybe

This year's Oscars were hard for me! There were some that I loved, some that I hated and some that were maybes. I have never had maybes before, but there were some this year.

Read on:

***********My favorite!

I think Mila is gorgeous and this dress looked so good on her.

The color was beautiful and the layers were just right.

Awesome!

My other favorite!

There is just only good to say about this dress. The bust line, the tulle, the shape, the jewelry.

Love, love, love.

Sandra is classic elegance.

This dress is traditional yet it has a touch of modern at the baseline.

I do love Anne's dress as well, but it seemed a little familiar.....

This is Natalie's year.

She is glowing and has chosen (in my opinion) some fantastic dresses for this year's awards ceremonies.

There was alot of sparkle at the Oscar's this year, along with a few feathers. Hilary had the right mix and looked awesome on the carpet.

Maybe I just love Amy Adams, but I think she picked a great color. Her light skin and red hair looked fantastic in this dark/navy blue. I probably would have nixed the necklace though.

Oh Helen! I can only HOPE that I look this awesome at her age. She is timeless and gorgeous.

Young Hollywood royalty. Love the dress. Love the hair.

She must be an alien. Seriously. She just had twins.

Gorgeous and love the hair.

Her tribute almost brought me to tears.

**************

Here are the MAY-be's.

Girl. We all know that you just had a kid. No need to break out the milk jugs.

But I do love the color and the sparkle.

I think I might have liked this dress if it didn't go all the way up to her neck.

Why was that necessary?

I thought this dress was awesome. The back was probably the best part.

But the "Just woke up after a night of partying and I don't know the name of the guy next to me" hair and make up look is NOT Oscar worthy.

I thought this was horrid. But after listening to some of the announcers, it did start to grow on me. This picture looked a little "Mr. Robotic", but in reality (ha, ha TV) it was pretty.
**********
And the worst:

Nicole, Ill say it again. FIRE. YOUR. STYLIST.
You are a tall, gorgeous woman. But your red carpet skills just suck.
I'm just sayin'.
I really don't know who this is. But she was up for an award.
She should have spent more than $80 on a dress. It looks like it came from JCPenney.
I would have been embarrassed for her if she won.

What could you have been thinking?
Did you see this on a mannequin and think, "I have to have this dress."
Were you on drugs at the time?
Ugh, I can't even look at it anymore.
Gorgeous color.
But I could not pull my eyes from the girls.
Spray-on tan and body tape are your friends.
I was wondering where my great grandmother's wedding dress was.
I thought moth's had eaten that dress and I rejoyced.
Miraculously, it came back and made an appearance at the Oscars.
FAIL
Where do I start?
Why are there little yellow beads on the shoulders?
Looks like a metal of armor.
With a hole cut out.
And drapes put in.
Maybe there is a peep show later?

Results of the Sale

I went to a great consignment sale today. I have been looking forward to it since last August. I didn't have alot that I needed to buy, but I really wanted some summer dresses for Abby.
I got six! Plus a cute top. And her Easter dress for $6 (not shown).

Two pairs of sandals.

Lots of books.

And a sitting, spinning toy for $2.
I am so excited by what I got. And I saw some friends there and got to hang with them in line to check out (30+ freaking minutes).

Now....back to the Oscars. I am already working on my reviews!

Jumping

Today was such a beautiful day! I started the day out visiting JD and Jess's wedding venue. Oh.my.goodness. It is gorgeous. I left my camera in the car, so I didn't get any pictures.
After, I did some grocery shopping. I hate to admit it, but it is so much more peaceful to do it alone!
**********
Late this afternoon, I met Abby over at Gammy's. We did a little jumping.

Me jumping with Abby and Evan (playing popcorn).

Smiling at Gammy.

Waving to Gammy.

Mommy and Abby jumping. Mommy felt very old!

Wow! I am pretty sure that I will be sore tomorrow.

Abby playing on the slide.

Posing for a picture. (She likes to put her hands in her lap for pictures)

On the swings.

Abby was so peaceful on the swings. She didn't have a nap, so she was pretty tired most of the afternoon.
**********
During our nightly rock, I was in a hurry to get her to sleep. It was past her bedtime and I knew she had not had a nap. She kept grabbing at my hands. I finally realized that she was wanting her to put my (and her) hands in "prayer" mode.
She is just so sweet!
***********
Stay tuned for consignment deals tomorrow (hopefully!).

Presents

Abby received some presents today!
One was a late birthday present and one was from Mimi.
Sweet little Audrey sent her a birthday present.
Abby was so excited to open her package!

The first gift was a beautiful necklace with Abby's name on it.

Abby was totally fascinated by it and wore the rest of the night.
(Please ignore the background, it is laundry day)

Oh and then the giant cupcake. The wonder in her eyes says it all!

Abby wouldn't even take it in the living room. She had to open it right now.

Stacking the food boxes.

Finally I got her to move to the kitchen table.

She was so serious getting all the food organized.
She is very possessive right now. So everything in the cupcake was either Abby's, Momma's, Daddy's or Ali's. And she separated it all out.
********
I think someone heard that we were potty training!
Sweet Mimi sent her a potty training book. It came with stickers and a chart to track her progress. I am hoping that it helps!
And thanks Mimi - I hope you get to read this and will come see us soon!
**************
My Mimi has white hair. Any time Abby sees anyone with white hair, she calls her Mimi. My parents elderly neighbor came over the other night to tell us the dog got out. Abby was in the background screaming "Mimi, Mimi". I just had to laugh about it.
**************
Abby, me, my dad, JD and Jess all went to eat at Mimi's Cafe a few weeks ago.
When we were in the parking lot, a lady stopped to talk to Dad. With her was a lady that had white hair. Abby started screaming "Mimi, Mimi". My brother (bless his heart) said, "Wow, I can't believe that she knows we are at Mimi's Cafe - can she read that sign?".
Jess - you have your work cut out for you ;)
**************
Last, but not least.
What is up with 2T?
I can't remember where Stu got these pants, but we put them on a few weeks ago and they were falling off of her. He brought her to work in them with a safety pin in the back of them. I was stressing putting her in the car seat with the safety pin in her back and then it coming undone and poking her in rush hour traffic.
So I took it out and then of course lost it.

Blurry....but you can tell, the pants are ridiculous. I will have to get the brand and remember not to buy these again.

Cheese!

After changing her diaper, Abby and I had a photo shoot.
Yes, I left her pants off. I love those little legs!

When I told her that we were taking pictures, she put her legs together and got serious. (Yes, that is the Toys R'Us catalog in her hand).

Then she decided that it was a "sitting down" pose.

And scooted up to the camera!

She pointed to Ali and said "Ali, Cheese".
Ali has a face only a mother could love!

Abby's art work today.
*********
In a truly blond moment, I thought "That is too funny that they put Ali's name on one of Abby's pictures." How I thought they knew my dog's name, I don't know.
Finally I remembered that there is a little boy in her class named Ali.
**********
Tonight after prayers, Abby and I told each other that we loved each other. Then Abby whispered something. I asked her to repeat. I still couldn't understand her, so I asked her again. I finally made out that she said "I love You Daddy".
When she is sweet, she is oh so sweet.
